Troubleshooting: search returns no results
If your search in Benchmrk returns no results, there are several common causes and solutions.
Common causes
Wrong jurisdiction selected
The most common reason for no results is searching in the wrong jurisdiction. Marks are jurisdiction-specific — a NSW mark will not appear when you have VIC selected.
Solution: Check your current jurisdiction in the profile menu. Tap Profile → Jurisdiction and select the correct state or territory.
Filters are hiding results
Active filters may be excluding the mark you are looking for. For example, if you have filtered to show only PMs, a BM will not appear in results.
Solution: Open the filter panel and tap Clear All to remove all active filters, then search again.
Incorrect mark ID format
Each jurisdiction uses a different identifier format. Entering an ID in the wrong format will not return results.
Each jurisdiction uses its own mark identifier format. If your search term doesn't match the expected format, you may get no results.
Solution: Try searching by mark name instead of ID, or check the jurisdiction's official survey database for the correct identifier.
API unavailability
Benchmrk fetches mark data in real time from jurisdiction APIs. If the API is temporarily unavailable, searches may return no results.
Solution: Check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, the jurisdiction's data service may be experiencing downtime.
Mark does not exist in the database
The mark may not be in the jurisdiction's digital database, or it may have been removed.
Solution: Verify the mark exists by checking the jurisdiction's official survey mark database directly.
