Tutorial: Panel Management

Benchmrk uses sidebar panels for search results, point details, the Ledger, AI analysis, and the DocsPanel. Knowing how to open, close, and switch between panels helps you work efficiently. This tutorial demonstrates panel management with live action links.

Step-by-step walkthrough

Step 1: Open the docs panel

The docs panel displays this documentation site inside the app. If you are reading this inside the DocsPanel, it is already open — but let's try the action link anyway. Click the link below to ensure the docs panel is open.

Open the docs panel

If the panel was already open, nothing changes — the open-docs action is a no-op when the panel is already visible.

Step 2: Open the Ledger

Now let's open a different panel. Click the link below to open the Ledger panel, which shows your saved survey marks.

Open the Ledger

Notice how the sidebar switches to show the Ledger content. The map adjusts its width to accommodate the panel.

Let's switch to the search workflow. Click the link below to focus the search bar and bring up the search interface.

Focus the search bar

The search bar is now active. You can type a query and press Enter to see search results appear in the sidebar, replacing the Ledger view.

Step 4: Close all panels

When you want a clean map view with no sidebar panels, you can close everything at once. Click the link below to close all open panels.

Close all panels

The sidebar panels are now hidden and the map expands to fill the available space.

Step 5: Reopen the docs panel

Let's bring the docs panel back so you can continue reading. Click the link below to reopen it.

tip

You can also toggle the docs panel using the docs button in the app header. The Tutorial Action Links are a convenient shortcut when following tutorials.
