Your first search
This quick walkthrough takes you from launching Benchmrk to viewing the details of a survey control mark. It should take less than a minute.
Step 1: Launch the app
Open Benchmrk on your iPhone or iPad. If you have not yet signed in, enter your credentials or use Face ID / Touch ID.
Step 2: Select your jurisdiction
If this is your first time using the app, you will be prompted to select a jurisdiction. Choose the state or territory where you want to search for marks.
To change your jurisdiction later, tap the Profile icon and select Jurisdiction.

Step 3: Search for a mark
Tap the Search bar at the top of the map screen. You can search by:
- Mark name — e.g. "Mount Keira"
- Mark ID — e.g. a nine-figure number for VIC, or a mark name for other jurisdictions
- Address — e.g. "123 George Street, Sydney"
Type your search term and tap a result from the list.

If you are unsure of the exact mark name, try searching by a partial name or nearby address. The app will show marks in the vicinity.
Step 4: View mark details
After selecting a search result, the map centres on the mark and a summary card appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap the card to open the full details panel.
The details panel shows:
- Horizontal data — coordinates in
GDA2020andGDA94, including MGA easting and northing - Vertical data —
AHDheight, vertical order, and uncertainty - Mark details — type, status, condition, and jurisdiction-specific metadata
